For all driveway gates it is very important to carry out a survey to establish whether suitable fixings are available or whether we would need to install suitable ones, such as metal posts. As steel metal framed driveway gates will be a significant weight the fixings a vitally important. Establishing the slope of the driveway and also the opening space will affect fixing positions. To fit a sliding metal framed timber driveway gate will required a guide rail to be fitted across the drive and along the wall in the directions the gate will be slide open. The wall should hide a number of additional bracing posts that will support the gate as it is slid open.

Solid timber is more popular that slatted. For the shape
Most of our gates are kept simple rectangular in shape with a few arched topped with fleur de lis or spikes.

A great range of browns is available in wood effect composites so worth considering too.
This will depend on the size of your gates and the condition of the potential fixing points. If your existing brickwork, concrete post or wall will not provide an adequate fix then we will install metal posts into the ground to provide a secure fixing point.
For sliding driveway gates we will dig a trench so that the rail guide has a suitable strong fixing too.
